• Research reveals 75% of teachers feel that lost property is viewed as ‘disposable’

  We surveyed 500 teachers, from nurseries through to universities, about their experiences with lost property in schools. 75% feel that lost items are now viewed as disposable, with families choosing to replace rather than retrieve – and teachers also shared some of the strangest finds ever handed in, from a live turtle to a prosthetic foot. The good news: 89% agree lost property would be halved or much less if parents used name labels.

• We Built a Boat Out of Waterproof Name Labels – and Rowed It Down the Thames

  We say our name labels are 100% waterproof, so we set out to prove it. Traditional boatbuilders in Kent built us a wooden frame with the outer planking deliberately left off, and we made it watertight using nothing but thousands of overlapping name stickers. Then our CEO rowed it down the River Thames – and it floated.

  Names that feel quintessentially British are, in fact, deeply multicultural. We analysed the 2024 ONS birth registration data to map the countries shaping the UK top 100 – Germany leads with just over 20% of chart influence – then went hunting for the hidden gems those same regions have yet to export. The result is 20 ‘wanderlust’ names, from Ginevra and Aitana to Ansel and Oisín, that are hugely popular abroad but recorded fewer than 50 UK registrations.
